“If you do not wish to read, then why are you here?”
“To disturb you,” Jane replied with a laugh, “and to retrieve a book. Just because I do not enjoy reading as much as you do, does not mean I do not read.” She squeezed her sister’s arm and lowered her voice. “This could be your library.”
Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

‘This could be your library’ indeed. Lovely picture… I want to sit in that chair. It looks so lovely in the picture. I bet there is a warm comforter and a footstool or ottoman nearby. Yeah… with all this heat/hot temps… I’m longing for cooler weather. I guess it is the fact that school starts in a few weeks here and the back to school rush is on for school supplies. I love this story and can’t wait to see it in print. Blessings…
That chair does look tempting and snuggling into a chair with blanket is such a fun thing to do — but not at this time of year! We’re quite warm this year compared to most. I do enjoy new school supplies, but I am so not ready to even start thinking about school. It will be my last year this year homeschooling since my youngest son is going to be a senior. (We’ve only been homeschooling since he was in grade 10, at his request, but wow, it’s been really nice having this concentrated time with him)
What an inspiring picture, your imagination is drawn to many a library or study scenario. I really like this one, Leenie. And the tease for tomorrow’s Thursday Three Hundred is lovely. Sigh….
I love libraries. There was a little room in the library, where I lived back in high school, that was up a couple of stairs and kind of separated from the rest of the library. It had some really comfy chairs that were perfect for reading in. And since the room was set off, it was a bit quiet but you could still hear people looking for books and getting cards stamped (yep, way back when there were still cards to stamp). You could even hear the children coming in with parents and their voices fading as they went downstairs to the children’s area. I loved that spot. No better ambiance for slipping into the imaginary world of a book. The chair in this picture kind of reminds me of the chairs in that room.
