I hope you are staying safe and well. Below you will find information about what I accomplished in my writing life this week and a link to a book (which is actually three books in one) that is on sale from now until next Wednesday (April 22).
Writing News
Here’s an update on my writing I have with a short excerpt from two of them. Her Convenient Forever: I scheduled the first chapter of this story to post on May 12, 2020, and then I wrote the second chapter this week. I admit to feeling trepidation about writing a story for Felicity as she’s been horrid in the other stories, but I’m actually liking it so far. Here is a snippet from that chapter:
“Papa!” Matthias, who was in the garden with his nursemaid, ran towards him.
Papa was one of the few words that Matthias ever uttered. Boyd smiled at him and squatting down, held out his arms so that his son could run into them, but the smile was only an expression to let his son know how happy he was to see him. Inside, the weight on Boyd’s heart grew heavier as he remembered the sweet babbling boy Matthias used to be when he was three, before Anna had died.
He squeezed Matthias tight. “Did you have a good morning?”
Matthias nodded.
“And did you have any biscuits yet?”
Matthias shook his head.
“Then, I think we should find some because my stomach is beginning to rumble.”
Matthias wiggled out of his father’s embrace. Gone were the days of him wishing to be carried everywhere. Boyd knew it happened eventually with all children, but he had hoped that it might last a bit longer. He would just have to content himself with the fact that Matthias still greeted him with a hug and allowed him to hold his hand.
Matching Mr. Darcy: This story is still on the to-do list, but I am hoping to cross it off before the day is over. I ended up having to write two chapters of Protecting Miss Darcy this week because I missed getting one of those done last week, so this story got pushed to the end of the line.
Protecting Miss Darcy: As I said above, I have written two chapters of this story this week. Below is a snippet from one of those chapters. (And yes, I have once again managed to insert more children into a story. 😉 This time it is Alfred’s niece and nephew.)
“Where is the pretty lady?” Lily asked as she and Alfred approached the terrace.
“Her name is Miss Darcy,” Alfred corrected as he wondered the same thing. Georgiana had been with Ellen when he had started in this direction.
“Where is Miss Darcy?” Inquisitive, four-year-old eyes peered up at him.
“I am not sure where she is, Lily.” He smiled at her frown and then tapped her nose. Doing so usually made her giggle, but not today. “You will get to meet her,” he assured her. “You must just be patient. She has only just arrived.” Which was easier said than done.
Lilly was not the only one who was feeling anxious to see Miss Darcy. He should not be so eager. He had spent the past five days telling himself he would not be any more delighted to see her than he was to see his cousin. However, it appeared he had done a dreadful job of listening to himself.
Cherishing Kitty: I have begun my final read-through of this story, but still do not have the preorder up. It will be up next week. It will. It will. I am putting it high on the to-do list. 🙂 Release day will be April 30th.

When Darcy set out to win Elizabeth,
he never expected to end up loving her family.
After confessing his part in separating his friend from the woman he loves, Fitzwilliam Darcy finds himself unexpectedly standing at the beginning of a path leading to not only his friend’s happiness but his own as well.
However, the path will not be without its challenges. He will have to step out of his usual proper self and partake in creating a scandal. His dog will cause a calamity which will oblige him to invite the entire Bennet family to stay at his townhouse. And then, Darcy will find himself, on his cousin’s behalf, entrusted with the improvement and protection of the youngest Bennet.
As each challenge arises, Darcy will face it determined that the reward of Elizabeth’s love will be worth the effort. But little does he realize as he begins his quest to marry Elizabeth that her love will be only one of the many prizes Darcy finds along the way.

Book Review
Thank you, L. Kjonnerod, for reading and reviewing Delighting Mrs. Bennet. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the characters and the series. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet do get the Leenie treatment in this variation series — but then so do several other characters. 🙂 I’m going to be sad when Georgiana’s story ends and draws this series to an end because I have also enjoyed these characters.
For those who might not know: Delighting Mrs. Bennet is book two in my Marrying Elizabeth series and is included in this week’s $0.99 book.
Something Extra
Because of how things are in the world right now with all the uncertainty and waiting to return to some sort of normalcy, I have been trying harder than I usually do, to find things of interest to share with my readers on my Facebook page and in my Facebook groups.
This week, one of the things I shared was this “Georgian Makeup Tutorial.” I found it to be a fascinating 23 minutes away from my quarantined life. 🙂 I am sharing it today so that you can also spend a few minutes learning about how Georgian women and men used makeup while also hearing some interesting history from that time period and related to the house where the video is being filmed.
Just click the screenshot above to be taken to the video on YouTube.
Enjoy!
Have a good weekend! Be safe and well. I’ll see you on Monday.

That video was amazing. I can’t believe they put poisonous creams and rouge on their faces. How much lead poisoning did they endure? It is a wonder anyone survived to tell the tale. Thanks for the discount. I grabbed it. Yeah! Blessings on all your hard work.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. It’s amazing what we will do for “beauty,” isn’t it? 🙂
Yay! I’m delighted you could take advantage of this deal! Thank you.
