Reading, Relaxation, Reviews, and One Incredible Deal

Today is the day that great deal on the Choices Series box set begins. (You know, the sale I scheduled for the wrong day? Well, the “wrong day” has finally arrived ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Scroll down to find a link and details.

Writing News

It was once again a pretty good week of writing, despite the fact that I actually took a day off just to relax — a full day of nothing but relaxation, which included a lot of reading. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m not one to take full days off unless I’m going on a trip with my husband or am sick or something like that. So Wednesday was a very rare and indulgent day. (I even read more than one book, which if you’ve read a recent Broadsheet, you will know is also something I don’t normally do. However, these books were in a series so it was kind of like just reading a really long book.)

Even with that day off, I have kept almost on track. I’ll be right where I want to be if I get to do a bit of writing later tonight. Here’s the list of stories and the progress made along with a small snippet from each: His Irreplaceable Belle: I am up to chapter 11 in that story and things are most definitely looking like they are turning around for this couple. Will they stay that way? I don’t know. this is how this week’s chapter began:

The Leap-Saturday Broadsheet

Happy Leap Day! What a wonderful present to wake up to — an extra Saturday. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a look at what I have been up to during this last week of February 2020.

Writing News

So far (as of Friday evening), this has been an excellent writing week. I have put the new routine of rereading one day and writing the next into place, and it seems to be working quite well. I feel a lot less stressed over “getting it all done,” which has been wonderful to feel more relaxed. I think, depending on how today goes, I might actually get more written this week than I had initially thought I would. It’s always such a better feeling to be on top of things than trying to catch up. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s amazing what can happen when you embrace, rather than fight, the way your mind wishes to work. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Here is what I have written so far this week:ย

The Saturday Broadsheet: Just one more chapter…

Those four words are soooo dangerous! I have a dreadful time stopping anywhere before the end of a book — I always have. These four words played a part in what I did and did not get done this week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Writing Life

Due, in part, to some poor choices on my part ๐Ÿ˜‰ — see the info about reading past my bedtime at the bottom of this newsletter — I got less written this week than I had wanted.

The other part of the not getting as much done as wanted is that with all the things I am doing this year and things I have been learning about and experimenting with, I am finding my writing process is shifting somewhat. I used to reread what was written the day before and then jump right into the new chapter.

KU changes top the list of important info this week

Welcome to the weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚ There’s a lot of news this week. So, grab a cup of something refreshing or warming and settle in for a few minutes of reading. (There’s a link to a preview of a new story in one of the sections below — cleverly hidden under the heading Story Preview. ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Writing Life

This week did not progress as I had expected it to because we got snow on three days, and on two of those days, it was enough to require shoveling / snowblowing. That activity really cut into my productivity as it took time and used muscles that were not used to that sort of usage. LOL The snowblower is new, and this week was the first time I have used it. However, I still managed to write one chapter for two of my stories:ย

  1. Matching Mr. Darcyย (the bright new shiny story I told you about last week)
  2. Cherishing Kittyย (This is the one that did not get a new chapter as I think that the last chapter I wrote for it, might actually be the end and the next chapter is the beginning of Georgiana’s story. This calls for a reread and a think before moving on.)
  3. His Irreplaceable Belleย

A New Story, A New Title, and A Little Bit of Fun

Welcome to the weekend. I hope your week went well. We ended ours with some snow and ice. Here’s all that has been happening in my busy writing life this week.

Writing Life

A New Story: Remember how I was hoping to get some planning done on a third writing project? Well, I did — but just a tiny bit. However, it was enough for me to start exploring the idea by writing the first two chapters. Here is what I can tell you about it at present:
