It’s a new release kind of day!

Yesterday was the day that this book went live on all retailers. The only places where I’m still waiting to see the book listed are Hoopla (which always takes forever) and Everand.

If you’re a subscription reader, the book is available to read “for free” with your Kobo Plus subscription, and it has been added to the Repository on Patreon for paid members to read.

FYI: There are changes being made to membership things at Patreon. The official reveal of all that will be coming soon, but for now, just know that all paid members have been given access to read this new release and the Teatime Tales prequel as part of their membership benefits. And memberships currently begin at $1 USD.

If you’re a paperback reader, both the large and regular print paperback editions are available on Amazon.

I got my copies of it just a few days ago, and they turned out very pretty. 🙂

How to Marry an Accomplished Lady, just like it’s prequel An Accomplished Lady (of the best sort), is not an angsty book. It’s not supposed to be. It’s more of a romcom — full of entertaining antics and enjoyment. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t anyone trying to stop Darcy from marrying Elizabeth. Oh no, there are a few of those characters, who simply add to the drama that might just drive Darcy to distraction as he moves from determined to ask Elizabeth to marry him, to betrothed, to finally married.

And there are hints at what you might expect in the short sequel to this story, which will be a Mary and the Colonel novelette. (And which I need to get back to writing after the holidays).

If you’d like to see what some of the advance review copy readers are saying about this book, here are a few sound bites from the reviews I’ve gotten via my Booksprout Review Team.

If you haven’t gotten your copy of this book yet then click here to find it at your favourite retailer.

Please feel free to share news of this new release with your friends! You can always tag me on FB (@LeenieBrown) or IG (@leeniebbooks) and I’ll give it a like (as long as Meta lets me know about the tag — you know how social media can be 😉 ).

Have a great weekend! Happy reading!

The Siesta (Ramon Martí i Alsina)

I chose today’s picture because these Wednesday Story Connection posts (along with the What’s Up Wednesday ones) are going to take a siesta during the month of August. My hubby is on vacation, and I plan to take a few days off to do things with him. I am also behind on writing projects, so I need to free up some time for that. I plan to pick up the Wednesday posts again in September – probably mid-month.

I was able to remember a story where Mr. Darcy sleeps in a chair next to Elizabeth’s bed, and I have extracted a portion of that story below for your reading pleasure.

Waking to Mr. Darcy is in Kindle Unlimited, so it is only available on Amazon. If you don’t already have this book in your library, I decided just now to set it to free for one day — TOMORROW, August 8 — as a totally random surprise.

Enjoy!

A Meeting by the Stile (Heywood Hardy)

A Meeting by the Stile, Heywood Hardy, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons

Isn’t this a beautiful picture. I love this artist’s painting of horses and people. I could sit and look at them, admiring the details and dreaming up stories, for quite some time. 🙂

I thought that the name of this painting made it perfect to pair with the first chapter of Two Days in November since there is a gentleman on horseback and a meeting at a stile.

Two Days in November is a story that takes place over two days in November. They are the days after Jane and Elizabeth have left Netherfield, when Collins comes to Longbourn, and when Darcy and Elizabeth meet on the street in Meryton.

But it is Darcy’s discovering Elizabeth at the stile and hearing her sister’s tragic story of a love that was lost which turns his mind in a better direction than it was set upon going. I hope you enjoy reading about how this meeting at the stile begins. (It doesn’t finish until the end of chapter 2. 🙂 )

Enjoy!

PS. If you wish to read the full novelette, you can purchase a copy of it at your favourite retailer, or you can follow me on reamstories.com/leeniebrown or patreon.com/LeenieBrown and read it for free this month.
