Courting is a Pleasure (The Choral Scholars of University College Dublin)
Shall we start the week with a traditional Irish song and a story excerpt about a couple who is courting? (The courtship in the story turns out better than the one in the song. 🙂 )
The lines from Unravelling Mr. Darcybelow are from when Darcy and Elizabeth meet after Rosings when Elizabeth and Jane are still at the Gardiners.
Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

What a beautiful but tragic song. However, what a beautiful excerpt. Yeah, made my heart sing. Did you think of Jane when looking at that solo singer? Then perhaps a Kitty with the other blonde or perhaps a Lydia [under good regulation]. Then the brunette reminded me of an Elizabeth. I couldn’t help myself. They were so pretty. Blessings, stay safe, and healthy.
I’ve had computer problems or something as I know I posted comments in past posts and they disappeared into the internet ether. Oh, well. I didn’t want you to think I ignored you.
Technology is great when it works. 🙂 When it doesn’t work, it is a real pain. LOL I like the thoughts you had for each of the singers being a Bennet sister. How fun.
