I added a couple of videos to my Music Meets Movies playlist this week, and the video below is one of them. It’s not my normal style of music, but I have to say the video paired with the music drew me in and held me transfixed while it played and wanting more when it ended. The song’s full title is “Angels in the rRoom” and is by Delta Goodrem.
While I don’t have a story excerpt for you today, this song did make me think of Delighting Mrs. Bennet. The song contains these lines:
I just know I have found
The place my heart belongs
And if you read last week’s Thursday’s Three Hundred post, you read:
The thought of leaving her father did not sit well with her. However, the thought of leaving Darcy House did not seem to disturb her only because it meant leaving her father. She had not even been here for more than a few hours each day, and yet, she had found herself growing oddly attached to her surroundings.
There was a soft rap at the door before it opened, and Mr. Darcy, the likely reason why she was growing so attached to Darcy House, stepped into the room.
Elizabeth’s lips curl into a smile at the sight of him.
And if you read this week’s Thursday’s Three Hundred post, you will read this line:
She had just begun to learn what a wonderful gentleman Darcy was, and she suspected her heart would shatter into a million pieces if he should decide that he no longer wanted her.
Elizabeth has found the place where her heart belongs. <3
I have gotten a good deal of writing done on Delighting Mrs. Bennet this week. In fact, I have posts scheduled until July 5th right now, and one waiting to be reread and scheduled tonight before I begin writing more. There is that unusual pairing that is still deciding if it is going to be a thing, and I see a “problem” waiting just off stage, ready to spring upon our happy inhabitants of Darcy House. But — I am not exactly sure how that problem is going to arise, though I do have some thoughts on how it will be vanquished. So, it should be an interesting week of writing.
I have no new releases or special promotions or anything else to share about my writing. How odd is that? I’m not used to such a short list of things.
Thank you to those who purchased Confounding Caroline and/or left reviews in various places. Your support is greatly appreciated, and so far the book launch has gone well.
Oh, I guess I do have one more thing. Master of Longbourn has been sent to my final editor, and I am tentatively scheduling its release for June 21, 2018. And I shared a couple of fake text message pictures on Facebook a couple of days ago which I made from part of an important conversation in Master of Longbourn. I thought I would share them here for those who are not on Facebook to enjoy.
Now, I’m really done. 😀
Have a great week!

Happy Victoria Day! In honour of the day, I have found a music video with some scenes from one of my favourite movies — The Young Victoria.
I’m sure the Pride and Prejudice fans among us will recognize the actor who plays Prince Albert. 🙂 Who knew Wickham would rise so far! LOL 😉
I do not have a writing excerpt for you today, but I do have some writing news:
Here in Canada, the Victoria Day long weekend is the unofficial start to summer and the cottage season, and I know that Memorial Day is similar for those in the US. Spanning the time from Victoria Day to Memorial Day, Kobo is running a 40% off selected boxsets promotion, and one of my books is part of the “selected boxsets.” Just use the promo code 40MAY when purchasing A Dash of Darcy and Companions Cottage Collection 1 between now and May 28, 2018, to save 40% off the purchase price. The offer is good worldwide.
This collection includes: Finally Mrs. Darcy, Waking to Mr. Darcy, A Very Mary Christmas, Discovering Mr. Darcy, and Not an Heiress.
On Thursday of this week…
Confounding Caroline will be released. Those who have preordered will have the book delivered to them, and those who like to purchase after the release day can do just that.
Which brings me to the reason why there is no writing excerpt this week. Master of Longbourn has gone to my first editor, and hopefully by the end of the week will be with my second editor. I haven’t selected a definite release date yet, but I expect it will be about one month from today or just a few days after that. Therefore, since it is in editing, I do not have anything to share from it, and…
Delighting Mrs. Bennet, which I was working on last week and am continuing to work on this week, is our current Thursday story, and I don’t want to give anything away, so I do not have anything to share from it either.
I must say, I did not get a great deal of writing done on that story this week, but I did do some brainstorming about the plot and how things might play out for a couple of characters. You (and I) will have to wait to see what happens, but there is at least one interesting little idea that popped up while I was writing on Friday. It’s one of those “Oh! This could be fun!” ideas that is accompanied by a “I wonder how many readers will find it as fun as I do?” worry. I can’t say more than that right now, other than it is an unusual pairing idea that may or may not work as I am currently thinking. These characters do tend to change things as I settle into understanding them and figure out what they will and won’t do.
I hope you have a good week! I’m hoping that since I spent that time on doing some brainstorming this past week, this week will be a better word count week despite the few last things I need to get done before Confounding Caroline’s release day.
Until next time…
Happy Reading!
Leenie
